Concealed-fix roof sheeting profiles eliminate the need for pierced-fixing, thereby dramatically
reducing the probability of roof leakage. By supplying these profiles in continuous lengths, no
end lapping is required and the possibility of leakage is further eliminated. On large spans, these
parameters can only be met by profiling flat coil material on site.
The concept and reality of on site rolling was first introduced into Southern Africa by
Brownbuilt, a division of Global Roofing Solutions, in 1977. Since then, the company has ensured
that it remains the undisputed leader in this field.
The mobile mills in the GRS fleet are the most sophisticated of their kind in Southern Africa.
These fully contained, purpose built factories on wheels, incorporate Brownbuilt's vast experience
and expertise combined with the latest available technology.
The Klip-Lok 700 mill represents another innovation Global Roofing Solutions. A motorized de-coiler,
capable of handling 10 ton coils, was designed and incorporated in the rig to reduce coil
change-over times and tail-end waste, and increase daily rolling capacities. Flat sheet tension
between de-coiler and rolling mill was eliminated, thereby enhancing the quality of the finished
rolled product.
GRS currently holds a world record of producing 136m of Klip-Lok sheet lengths on site in Cape Town at the Vellodrome, Bellville.
